Dear all medical device stakeholders,

The Medical Device Authority (MDA), in collaboration with the Universiti Malaya (UM) research team, is conducting a study entitled “Barriers, Risks, and Regulations in Malaysia’s Medical Device Industry.”

This study aims to identify and assess the internal and external barriers influencing the growth and competitiveness of Malaysia’s medical device sector.

The medical device industry has been identified as a priority sector under the New Industrial Master Plan (NIMP) 2030. With its significant growth potential, this study seeks to enhance understanding of the sector’s challenges and opportunities, including efforts to strengthen local capabilities and reduce reliance on imported high-tech devices.

The findings of this study are expected to assist MDA in formulating more effective and evidence-based policies to support the sustainable development of Malaysia’s medical device industry.

MDA encourages all licensed establishments and medical device stakeholders to participate in this online survey. Your valuable input will help shape future policies and initiatives to strengthen the local medical device ecosystem.
