Seminar by The Medical Device Authority on Regulatory Updates at Bayview Hotel Georgetown, Penang

Penang – 5 July 2022: Medical Device Authority (MDA) has organized a one-day seminar titled "Seminar by The Medical Device Authority on Regulatory Updates" at the prestigious Bayview Hotel Georgetown located in Penang. The success of this event was made possible with the tireless efforts of 7 speakers and 10 secretariats from MDA. This is the second face-to-face seminar in the year 2022 organized by MDA-CoRE as a strategy to spread regulatory information effectively by tackling each medical device's industrial zones in Malaysia.

 

The seminar objectives are achieved by sharing information and updates on regulatory requirements on medical device regulations, guiding the industry on how to comply with the medical device (Duties and Obligation of Establishment) Regulation 2019 and medical device (Advertising) Regulations 2019, while disseminating information on the latest development on ASEAN Medical Device Committee (AMDC) and Global Harmonization Working Parties (GHWP) and assisting the compliance of the regulatory requirement to the Act and regulations under it. 

 

In addition, 55 individuals of existing and new manufacturers, authorized representatives, importers, distributors, CABs, associations, and medical devices industry representatives participated in this information-packed seminar. The seminar includes a one-hour panel Q&A session that was very well received and utilized by the participants.
